Experiences

Give $75. Make something.

Come into the hot shop and make a piece of your own with a maker right beside you. Each experience is a suggested $75 donation that goes straight into keeping the studio open — no experience needed, and you leave with something you made.

Reserving for two, or want to book a group or a private session? Email us and we’ll set it up.

How it works

Three simple steps.

1 · Give $75

Pick a flower or a bauble and give securely through Stripe. That donation reserves your experience.

2 · We schedule

We’ll email within a couple of days to find a time that works — evenings and weekends included.

3 · You make it

Come to the studio at McGuffey, make your piece with a maker beside you, and pick it up once it’s annealed.

Good to know

A few details.

What to wear. Closed-toe shoes and natural fibers (cotton) are safest near the furnace. Skip loose synthetics; tie back long hair. We provide glasses and any other safety gear.

Accessibility. The hot shop is on the lower level at McGuffey. Tell us what you need and we’ll make the session work for you — get in touch.

Scheduling & refunds. Because it’s a donation, it isn’t refundable, but we’ll always work with you to reschedule. Just let us know.

Rather just give?

Support the studio directly.

Not up for the heat today? A straight donation of any size does just as much good.

Charlottesville Glass is a newly forming nonprofit. A $75 experience includes glass time and a piece to take home, so the tax-deductible portion (if any) is limited — we’ll clarify as our 501(c)(3) status is confirmed.
